ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Information Technology (IT) was established in the year 2024 with an intake of 60 students. It plays a pivotal role in the institution, focusing on the study, development, and application of information technologies to solve real-world problems across various industries. The department offers a four-year undergraduate course (B.Tech) in Information Technology, and is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai.
The curriculum and syllabi for the program are designed as per the Regulation 2021 of Anna University. The program is based on a strong foundation of mathematics, science, and engineering principles, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of computer science, software engineering, and information systems. The core areas of study include programming languages, data structures, algorithms, database management systems, computer networks, and web technologies.
As students’ progress, they delve into advanced topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, big data analytics, cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain technology. The department is committed to developing skilled IT professionals capable of tackling modern-day challenges through innovation, research, and industry collaboration.
