ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. It provides knowledge and skills to plan, analyze, design, estimate, and execute projects using appropriate scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles and concepts. The field is further broken into several sub-disciplines, such as structure design, transportation engineering, environmental engineering, geo-technical engineering, and construction engineering. Civil engineers design and supervise the construction of buildings, highways, railways, airports, tunnels, dams, and bridges, as well as fluid transport systems.
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2011 with an intake of 60 students. The goal of the department is to create highly talented civil engineers with the help of excellent infrastructure for teaching learning and research and catering to local, national and global needs.
