ELECTRICAL MACHINES LABORATORY I & II

The Electrical Machines Laboratory supports teaching, research and consultancy work on Electrical machines (Generators & Motors) and drives. Through hands-on experiments with real machines, students gain practical experience on transformers and various types of machine drives. The laboratory can also be used for project work related to electrical machines and energy conversion. The Machine lab section consists

POWER ELECTRONICS LABORATORY:

Power Electronics Laboratory course in intended to provide knowledge on power semiconductor devices and power converters. This laboratory will help the students to gain knowledge on power converters and its applications to electric drives. The major equipment in this laboratory are

  • Variable Regulated Power Supply (VRPS),

POWER SYSTEM LABORATORY

Power System Laboratory comprises of protection, simulation, high voltage and machine related experiments. Facilities are available for analysing in simulation method for over current, under voltage, directional, differential and distance relays including different numerical relays, determination of the generalized constants A, B, C, D of a long transmission line etc.

LINEAR AND DIGITAL CIRCUITS LABORATORY

The main objective of the Linear Integrated Circuits laboratory is to learn various Linear ICs and use them to design circuits to perform analog IC experiments. This lab enables the students in understanding the functions of operations of different IC’s such as operational amplifiers (op-amp) IC741, Timer IC555, Voltage regulator IC LM723 and so on.

MICROPROCESSOR AND MICROCONTROLLER LABORATORY

This Laboratory gives a clear exposition on the theoretical aspect of the subject through laboratory demonstration and experimental setup on various topics. Experiments are designed to elaborate the functions of various microprocessors (8085, 8086) and 8051 (microcontroller) through software and hardware based experiments. The objective of the laboratory is to enhance the practical knowledge of the students by performing experiments based on logical and arithmetic operations and how to interface memory and other peripherals with processors.
