Functions of the Department Academic Advisory Committee (DAAC)

The Department Academic Advisory Committee (DAAC) shall perform the following functions:

  1. Review and recommend the curriculum and syllabus of the department.
  2. Ensure that the curriculum meets industry requirements and emerging technologies.
  3. Suggest value-added courses, certificate courses, and skill development programmes.
  4. Review and recommend elective courses offered by the department.
  5. Monitor the effective implementation of the academic curriculum.
  6. Review student academic performance and suggest measures for improvement.
  7. Recommend innovative teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
  8. Promote Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and continuous quality improvement.
  9. Encourage industry interaction through guest lectures, internships, and industrial visits.
  10. Recommend research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and consultancy activities.
  11. Review feedback received from students, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders.
  12. Suggest improvements based on stakeholder feedback.
  13. Recommend the introduction of new programmes or specialization courses, wherever necessary.
  14. Encourage faculty development programmes, workshops, and training for faculty members.
  15. Review laboratory facilities and recommend modernization of laboratories.
  16. Promote interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary learning opportunities.
  17. Ensure compliance with the academic regulations, AICTE, UGC, and University/Autonomous norms.
  18. Review departmental academic achievements and recommend quality enhancement measures.
  19. Recommend strategies to improve student placement, higher education opportunities, and employability skills.
  20. Submit recommendations and action points to the Academic Council through the Board of Studies for further approval and implementation.
